The development and high
repute of the spa is thanks to the aristocratic Clam-Gallas family.
Between 1783 and 1808 a classical and an imperial pavilion were built. The
Marie, Eduard, Wilhemina, Josephina, Bierbon and Hubert springs have all
been added to the original Christiansbrunn spring and can be found in the
area surrounding the spa buildings. Today the main healing procedures
involve natural mineral-carbonic baths which help the blood flow, blood
vessels, the heart as well as the muscles and the nervous system. Drinking
the mineral water is recommended for the treatment of digestive disorders,
anemia and the kidneys. As well as making use of these natural springs for
treatment, various other methods are used, such as many different massage
techniques, heat treatment, light exercise, electrolyssis, water exercise
and acupuncture. Treatments are prescribed individually according to the
case. The spa specializes in treating heart disease (and in particular
people who have suffered hert attacks), in the treating people after
operations. It also specializes in muscle treatment, treatment of
degenerating illnesses and cases following orthopedic surgery. The spa
treats people with neurosis and other no psychotic illnesses. Programs to
help people reduce their stress, levels, to combat obesity and postnatal
courses are all offered. Thanks to the location of the spa, trips are
organized to nearby Hejnice or to the Obří sud viewpoint from where
there are breathtaking views across the northern Jizera Mountains. |

The settlement has been handed down
through the ages since the middle of the 13th century when it belonged to
mark Vartic, who was to become the Lord of Vartenberk. The name Osečná
apparently comes from the Czech word "Osekat" which means
"cut or trim" which is how the surrounding forest was originally
cleared. It's located on the Ploučnice stream at the meeting of two
trading paths. In the year 1661 Kundratice became an independent town.
Slatina, which is a peaty composite, was obtained from the earth and was
later used for heating and each family was entitled to 1000 bricks og peat
annually. Josef Schwan built the first peat spa with a bathing pool here
as early as 1880. Kundratice has an extremely favorable climate being
protected from the northern winds by the Ještěd Ridge and surrounded
by forests and meadows. One particular guest that springs to mind is the
painter Max Švabinský, who used to pay for this treatment with his
paintings. Now many famous contemporary actors enjoy coming here. Three
times a week dances, operatic singers or the popular choir Canzonetta
entertain guest. Trips are also organized to the surrounding areas. You
can play mini golf here or hire a bike and head out into the newly paved
cycle paths which run through the dense forest with its sandstone rocks.
There's an 18 hole golf course in nearby Rozstání. Foreign languages can
be heard mixing on the top of Ještěd as well as below in Liberec
with its 100.000 inhabitants. The magical and peaceful Kundratice Spa is a
return to direct contact with nature. You're outside. Lie down on the
grass and make daisy chains as you did in your childhood. Pick berries in
the forest, cast your fishing rod into the lake. It's a return to times
gone by when your ancestors in every town and village all knew eachother.
The biggest problem in contemporary society is that of alienation.
loneliness and the loss of communication. In a small community of a
hundred and fifty patients, together with doctors, nurses and staff it's
easy to remember a person. It's exactly this mutual intimacy and
friendship that makes people want to return. The Kundratice Spa offers
procedures which can very effectively deal with the following disorders:
rheumatoid arthritis, spinal disorders, chronic disc syndrome and
conditions after disc operations. muscle rheumatism, muscle diseases,
arthritis, spondylosis, spondylarthosis and muscle disorders caused by
shock. It's possible to effectively influence associated conditions such
as diabetes and high blood pressure. This supportive program of care uses
the slating iron sulphide natural baths and is supplemented with different
types of massage, water healing, electrolysis, acupuncture,
kryotherapy, chiropraxie as well as many other techniques. Accommodation
is in fully furnished single or double rooms. All meals are provided
directly on site. How you get there? The best way is either by car or by
bus from Liberec, which is 20 Km away. The route leads across the mountain
peak Výpřež, which is close to the peak of Ještěd. Other
roads come from Český Dub and Stráž pod Ralskem. The area around
Kundratice Spa is beautifully romantic and you are certain to leave with
happy memories. |
