Position
The
guesthouse is situated in a protected landscape region of the Jizera
Mountains in Bedrichov. The guesthouse lies on the crossroads of three
roads from Liberec, Jablonec and Josefov Dul. It is situated approximately
7 km away from the district city, Jablonec nad Nisou, and 8 km away from
the regional city, Liberec. Both cities are connected by public transport.
The prices for municipal public transport are 10 CZK / 20 minutes. The
entire region is easily accessible from Germany and Poland.
Accommodation
Rooms:
3x apartments with 4 till 6 beds, 1x 5 beds, 1x 4 beds, 2x 2 beds with extra
bed or baby cot. The rooms are equipped with a modern double bed, a
bedside table, reading-lamp, radio, TV + SAT and a wardrobe. Each room
has its own bathroom with shower and a toilet. Breakfast is included in
the accommodation price. There is a car park nearby the guesthouse and
there is also the possibility of parking in the garage, which is part of
the building. A ski storage room. A common room equipped with an open
fire. TV + satellite. A small kitchen providing the guests with the
possibility of doing their own cooking, sauna with shower and small basin
with cold water and rest room. Outside the house is a small terrace with
grill and place to play chess. The use of the entire building is suitable
for both summer and winter recreation and they welcome both domestic and
international guests. At present, it is possible to offer the entire
facility as a training center for Czech and international companies or for
use during club and sports training courses.
Surroundings
The guesthouse's surroundings contain many marked
walking tracks for summer walks and cross-country skiing.
The
Bedrichov artificial lake - is situated on the Black Nisa and it was
completed in 1905. Water flows from here to the Rudolfov Power Station by
means of a covered "channel". Černá hora (Black mountain)
- a nature reserve situated 1084 m above sea level. The remains of the
original pine growth have been damaged by emissions. A raised bog with the
mountain pines rock formations (snow towers). Josefův
Důl
an industrial agricultural municipality
established in 1701. The old glassworks from the 17th century was replaced
with the present works in 1910. The Church of the Transformation of the
Lord dates from 1862-65. The small-leaved linden under the railway station
is probably the oldest tree in the Jablonec region. Klikvová louka
- a nature reserve, which includes a peat moor with a rich occurrence of
Sphagnum and cranberries. At the start of the 20th century, peat was dug
here and from 1908 the excavated turbary was used as a water reservoir
(now overgrown) The water from this reservoir was used to power the glass
grinding plants in Bedrichov. Královka - lies at 859 m above sea level,
the highest point on the Maxov Ridge. The lookout tower (23.5 m high)
dates from 1907. The lodge beneath the tower dates from 1936. The name Královka
is a Czech version of the original German name, "Königshöhe".
The oldest Czech name of the mountain is Nekraš. Kristiánov - a
former settlement and glassworks (1775 - 1887), which is now uninhabited.
The manor house burnt down in 1938. The forest glassworkers' cemetery is
situated there. The glass museum is situated in "Lišcí bouda"
(the former inn) (open from 15.6. to 15.10. on Saturdays and Sundays). Nová
Louka - is a secluded place on the Blatný potok Stream.
The glassworks dating from 1756 - 1817 was established on the site of the
"new" clearing dating from 1630. The remaining vestige of the
glassworks is the manor house, which was converted into a hunting lodge in
1844 and later (after 1930) into the headquarters for the State Forest
Authority. The reservation of the same name lies in the environs (31
hectares, declared a reservation in 1987) - a raised bog with mountain
pines and water logged spruce forests. Severák - The name for both
the mountain (803 m above sea level) and the mountain chalet. Thanks to a
number of ski tows, Severák has become one of the main centers for
downhill skiing in the Jizera Mountains. Part of the skiing area includes
the bridge, via the skiing trail crosses the road. Slovanka - This green lookout tower upon one of the peaks of
the Maxov Ridge (820 m above sea level) dates from 1887. It was purchased
at the World Exhibition in Vienna. The
Josefův Důl Water Reservoir - Built in 1976-82, this is the largest valley
reservoir in the Jizera Mountains. The rock-fill dam (length 720 m, height
above terrain 43 m) contains 23 million m3 of water. It is used for
supplying Liberec and Jablonec with drinking water (the water treatment
plant is in Bedrichov).
