This area is to be found in a stunning scenery of the Low Tatras National Park in the North-side of the Janska vally. The Janska valley is one of the most gorgeous low-tatras valleys, throughout which is the Stiavnica brook running. The valley is 17 km stretched, up to the highest peak of The Low Tatras – Dumbier ( 2043 m ). It’s also an entering gate into a locality that is alive with the beautiful mountains, views and landscapes, treasures of alive and dead nature, rare plant and animal life, hot and mineral springs, historic and cultural memories. It is a well known touristy destination and in the winter season it’s becoming a famous alp-skiing center. Leisure time and surroundings
Janska valley is situated in a well known region of Liptov, which is placed in the territory of two national parks. The Liptov region is surrounded by great range of mountains. (The Low Tatras from the South, the Velka Fatra from the south-west and the Chocske Vrchy and West Tatras from the North). Right in the middle of it, was created a great water work celled Liptovska Mara Dam. The Liptov offers not only attractive natural and historic beauties, but also famous archaeological finding-places and memories of the folk architecture and folklore. The Janska valley, one of the most striking walleyes of this locality, now also offers swimming possibilities in a thermal open and ruffed swimming pools. They all use the greatest of the thermal springs – Rudolf. It is especially famous for it’s beneficial effects on motion, coronary, nervous, urinary systems and female ills. Further more it has favorable cosmetic effects. Those spring are considered to be the greatest source of mineral water in the whole Slovak republic and has been known for about 100 yeas. Spa Besenova, is another well-known spa and leisure center. It uses hot, mineral springs positioned nearby Besenova village with the water temperature up to 61 Celsius. The hot, healing water comes from the depth of 1987 meters and has wholesome influence on human organism. Six swimming-pools are open for the whole year. Thermal water is, above all, beneficially effective on motion and urinary systems and has also cosmetic effects. This mineral water contains the lithium element with its immediate positive consequence on psychic balance. The whole Janska valley as well as the whole Liptov provides to all visitors great sports possibilities, as hiking, skiing, cycling, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, spelunking, horse riding, and also fishing and hunting.

Cycling - For devoted to biking, Liptov is an ideal. There are lots of optimal routes. The most favorites are the routes round Liptovska Mara Dam or through the Demanovska Valley. View flights - Should you like to learn this locality, from the bird’s eye view, we’d like to recommend the view flights by a small, sports aero plane navigated by a knowledgeable instructor, that will give you an idea about the country from the top. Water activities - Lipto vska Mara dam is considerable center in summer and one of the best known at all. Apart from swimming, the visitors enjoy surfing, windsurfing and yachting, water biking and view voyage by the Liptov boat. Rafting - We focus on a recreational rafting on two rivers – Vah a Orava. This rafting can be handled by anybody with some swimming experience and will give you easy access to water., fun and nature under the guidance of a instructor. Exceptionally nice and attractive is rafting on Dunajec river on a very traditional gorals’ rafts.

Spelunking - Here we are with the possibility to discover the world of darkness and silence. Romance and adventure, that’s  what you will find in these inaccessible parts of the national natural reservation. From the amount of 4000 caves, 12 is accessible and 3 of them are located in the region of Liptov. The natural monument Demenovska Caves is the longest cave system in Slovakia ( proximately 25 Km). It is situated in the territory of the Low Tatras national park. Note!: All activities and visits are carried out under the guidance of spelunk-rescue-service members. We shall provide you with special waterproof overalls, helmets and lights. Spelunking is available all year round. Opportunities to go in for sport in winter season: In winter season, the skiing center Javorovica located in the Janska valley, welcomes to its visitors and offers 4 ski-lifts with the capacity of 1900 people per hour and 4 downhill tracks with the total length of 2620 meters. The Tracks are snow-gunned and lighted up, which means that the best ski conditions are guaranteed. The exacting character of the tracks grades from the beginners and children’s tracks to professionals. These great conditions will surely satisfy cross county skiers and snowboarders. The ski-center Javorovica is situated near by hotel Avena (cca. 400 m. from hotel Avena). Other well-known ski centers close to Liptovsky Jan village - Chopok - Jasna ( 20 min. by car ) - the biggest center of down town-hill skiing in Slovakia. The capacity of 15 lifts is 12 150 people per hour. Certovica ( 20 min. by car ) - Significant ski center. Tracks suits to everyone. Zavazna Poruba (5 min. by car) - 3 lifts available, snow-gunned and lighted up tracks. Suits to professionals. Nizna Boca (20 min. by car). Myto pod Dumbierom ( 30 min. by car ) - 5 ski-lifts for 2500 people. Podbanske ( 10 min. by car ) - 2 lifts available with the capacity of 1100 people per hour. Each longer then 500 meters. Dovalovo ( 10 min. by car ). Podbreziny ( 10 min. by car ).
