Golf
has developed successfully in the Czech Republic since the early 20th
century. At present the extensive greens in Karlstejn, Konopiste,
Silherovice and Cihelny near Becov nad Teplou are generally considered the
most beautiful to be found in this country. The Maranske Lazne golf course,
founded in 1905 by King Edward VII of England, and the Karlovy Vary golf
grounds, which boast the oldest golf club in the country, are set in the
attractive environment of these famous spa towns, abundant in magnificent
natural sceneries. The new, extensive multi-style Nová Amerika (New
America) grounds at Zaloňov near Jaroměř also offer
uncommon experiences and top-quality services, as do dozens of other golf
resorts throughout this country. |
|
All of them are incorporated with a great deal of
sensitivity into undulating wooded terrains offering splendid panoramic
views, in river valleys or the romantic environments of parks (a list of
these facilities can be found in the supplement inserted in this
brochure). The basic services provided to visitors include the hire of
golf equipment and electric carts, high-quality courses for beginners and
advanced players and a wide range of complementary activity sports. Apart
from this some top-category hotels run their own golf courses. |
