The Liberec region is being enriched by a new, significant dominant feature - the multi-functional Babylon Center which is continually being extended. In a way it is a unique project even by European standards - in the future there will be almost everything in this indoor complex whose area corresponds to that of 5 football pitches: an aqua-park with a sports and relaxation centre, an amusement-park, a number of various forms of entertainment and care of both mind and body, unlimited possibilities of spending your free time but also shopping opportunities, all kinds of services including accommodation or organizing social or business meetings.

The Babylon Center has become a popular destination for family trips and a place of relaxation and entertainment for visitors from the whole of the Czech Republic and recently also from abroad. Since autumn 1998, when the first part of Babylon - a little :town" of 60 picturesque shops - was opened, other entertainment and gastronomic enterprises have followed. In the centre of the entertainment part of Babylon there is an amusement-park- an area of family entertainment which-in the style of an old Czech fair-offers a lot of attractions that catch the attention of visitors of all generations and interests. Small children have fun on inflatable attractions, trampolines, mazes, swings springs rides and merry-go-rounds or take a little train. Older children can visit a playroom with table football and ice hockey, videogames, simulators and other attractions which even adults might enjoy. Among the "magnets" of the amusement park are the Dodgem cars, the crazy bull Rodeo, attractive virtual reality and especially laser games, which are becoming more and more popular. In the entertainment part of Babylon there are also gambling rooms, bowling and a large discotheque. Evenings with accordion, piano or dulcimer music, dancing parties and cultural undertakings in the Congress Hall are regularly organized

In Babylon you can visit 12 restaurants. Very reasonably priced lunches are available in the self-service lunchroom, or you can spend a nice evening in an old-Czech beer-house, a snack-bar or in the exclusive Luxury restaurant (with 6 salons) or in some of the bars, cafés or wine bars. The interiors, equipment, menus and atmospheres differ in all these establishments, and the combination of them all provides a pleasant atmosphere. If you have a party or a celebration in Babylon you can also take a special and original Babylon tram to get to the place. The Babylon Center is continually growing. The business center, which will offer professional services on an International level, is being completed in stages, the building of a multi-stored car park with capacity for 520 places is now finished. In late summer 2000 the building of the Babylon center culminated with the opening  a large tropical aqua park, situated in beautiful romantic scenery. In the area of the aqua-park you can find sport halls, a fitness center, massage saloons and beauty parlors, a Turkey's steam bath, a Finnish sauna, a solar terrace and above all a network of toboggans. A 3 star Hotel with 300 beds is already open above the existing Babylon Center. Babylon is becoming an entertainment, shopping and free time center for people of all generations and for all social and interest groups. At the same time it is becoming a site - as it was in the Babylon of ancient times - of the intermingling of languages and cultures - as Liberec lies near the Polish and German borders in the very heart of the NISA Euro region. The Babylon center is easy accessible. It is situated near the town center in the premises of a former textile factory. It is next to the highway running from Prague to the German border.
